An Elegant English Cottage Themed Baby Shower

When my sister Bri announced she was expecting, I was so excited to dream up her baby shower and knew it had to be something truly special—a day filled with warmth, love, and, of course, all things girly. With a theme inspired by the charm of an English cottage (my sister is obsessed with Great British Bakeoff), we set out to create a magical celebration that would be cherished for years to come.

The idea of an English cottage theme immediately brought to mind images of quaint countryside gardens, cozy interiors, and an abundance of soft, feminine details. We decided to use these elements into every aspect of the baby shower, creating an atmosphere that was both inviting and whimsical.

One of the most delightful surprises I prepared for Bri was a dollhouse bookcase that I flipped just for her. I found the piece on Facebook Marketplace, and with a little creativity, it was transformed into a charming accent for the nursery. The bookcase was originally plain, but I added a scallop trim and a stained shingle roof to give it a touch of whimsy and painted accents in a soft sage green, which perfectly complemented the English cottage theme. To make it even more special, I filled the shelves with thrifted decor, each piece thoughtfully chosen to reflect Bri’s taste. Seeing her face light up when she saw it was one of the highlights of the day—it’s a piece that will not only serve as a practical addition to her baby’s room but also as a sentimental reminder of this special time.

For a sweet memento for Bri and her baby girl, a petite keepsake box was a must. When it comes to preserving life’s most treasured moments, petite keepsake trunks are a beautiful and practical solution. These charming little trunks are more than just storage; they’re a way to encapsulate memories, adding a touch of nostalgia and elegance to any room. This trunk added to the overall vibe of the day and was the perfect detail to add in.

From the table settings to the flowers, everything was carefully curated to reflect the girly, whimsical nature of the day. The tables were set with delicate china, lace tablecloths, and vintage-inspired glassware.

Hosting and photographing Bri’s English Cottage Baby Shower was a labor of love, and seeing everything come together so beautifully was incredibly rewarding. The day was filled with warmth, laughter, and countless picture-perfect moments. As I look back on the photos, I’m reminded of how special it was to celebrate Bri and her little one in such a magical setting.
